My Reading Goals for 2019

| On
January 19, 2019

For the longest time, I have tried to force myself to read more. I have this personal goal - the same goal I have had for 3 years - to read at least one book a month. Yes, you read that right! One book a month. I'm doing this because I have not been very consistent with my reading since I finished school, so one book a month is achievable for me.

By the end of this year, I want to have read 12 books minimum. I know there are people out there that can read like 12 books in two months, but I am not one of those. I’m easily distracted by Netflix, YouTube, Sims 4 and World of Warcraft. My bad! 🙈

So here is a list of some of the books I want to read this year!

Salem's Lot, Stephen King.
Pet Sematary, Stephen King.
Necronomicon: The Best Weird Tales of H. P. Lovecraft.
Animal Farm, George Orwell.
Cujo, Stephen King. [In Progress]
C, Tom McCarthy.
Lisey’s Story, Stephen King.
Along Came a Spider, James Patterson.
Snuff, Chuck Palahniuk.

I can only think of nine books at the moment, but I will add more as the year goes on. I will link my GoodReads profile in the sidebar so you can keep up to date or follow me….If you care that is! 😂

Do you have any book suggestions? I like horror and crime novels (obviously), but I am open to anything and would love to see what you guys recommend! 😊

  1. I am exactly the same I want to be more consistent with how much I read and how much I read as I do really enjoy reading! I really recommend animal farm as I really enjoyed reading that a few years ago, thanks so much for sharing!

    1. Hi! I enjoy reading a lot and I am disappointed I haven't done it for so long. I always let myself get distracted, but this year it will change. I am determined! Even if it is only one book! That is more than I did last year haha.

  2. I went through the same. My favorite ones are the inspirational books, that have morals or something to learn from.

I like some inspirational books, but I like to learn and am enjoying history and true crime lately. I also love a good horror/thriller too.

  3. One of my favorite crime books is Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King. It's the first book in a trilogy, but the second book sucks and the third book is not as good.
